Happy Monday!
This is my inaugural post for the Indulgence blog and I’m so excited to be here and to be writing for Entangled. I love the Indulgence line (and all the lines!) and am so excited to see how readers continue to flock to romance – a genre that has brought me endless hours of enjoyment and entertainment.
I always say I’m a reader first, a writer second, and I mean that on so many levels. I can’t imagine my life without books in it and I know I’d never have been drawn to being a writer if I didn’t love reading so much.
What I love about the romance genre (in addition to happy ever afters, strong heroes and heroines and fun stories) are the endlessly creative ways authors take those heroes and heroines and write them to their happy ever after. The joy in telling stories is figuring out what puts those two people together and what’s going to make them stay for the long haul.
Couples the world over meet in a variety of ways, from family functions to fix ups to the work place to…well, you name it and it’s happened. How wonderful, then, that we’ve got an entire genre of fiction that explores that experience and reflects all the myriad of ways individuals end up together.
I have a great aunt who is the matriarch of our family. She is deeply beloved by all of us in the family and is currently 91 years young. She’s one of those people you can’t help but be happy around and I’ve often said if there are angels walking the earth, she is one of them. A few years ago, we were together and I asked her how she met her late husband. Despite the fact that they’d met nearly 70 years before, her eyes lit up and the years faded from her face as she told me the story of how they met and fell in love.
This is the power of the love story. Love stories make us young and carefree, happy and hopeful. They reinforce the very best parts of our humanity and prove – over and over again – that love is the most powerful experience we are gifted with on our journeys through life.
So come join me today and share your stories. How’d you meet your significant other or is there a love story that’s a particular favorite of yours? We all deserve to start our week feeling young and carefree, happy and hopeful!

What a fabulous first post, Addison! I have Tempting Acquisitions waiting for me on my Kindle.
I LOVED the story of your aunt’s face lighting up.
DH and I met on our very first day in college and have been married 14 years.{:o)
Thanks, Barbara!!
And I love how you and your husband met! One of my dearest friends was also a “first day of college” gal and met her husband as she was moving into her dorm. They’re still going strong 15 years later as well.
Sadly…my first day of college wasn’t nearly as interesting – I accidentally got locked in the bathroom!!!! Fortunately, I ended up getting out (not without some serious embarrassment). I like your story much better!!!
